Ο Σπύρος Ρεκούνας γεννήθηκε το 1969 στον Πειραιά. Από την εφηβική του ηλικία ασχολήθηκε με τη ζωγραφική, το σχέδιο και τη φωτογραφία. Είναι απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Φωτογραφίας και Οπτικοακουστικών Τεχνών του ΠΑΔΑ(2020) όπου και οι ακαδημαϊκές καταβολές των επιλογών του. Ο ίδιος χαρακτηρίζει τη φωτογραφία ως τον ιδανικό τρόπο έκφρασης και αποτύπωσης του μεγαλείου που τον περιβάλει, είτε πρόκειται για ένα τοπίο, ένα κτίριο ή ένα πορτρέτο, και τη διαδικασία λήψης, ως το προσωπικό του προσκύνημα .Τα τελευταία 30 χρόνια εργάζεται ως τεχνικός φωτισμού σε θεατρικές παραστάσεις και παραγωγές οπτικοακουστικών έργων.

Spiros Rekounas was born in 1969 in Piraeus. Since his adolescence he has thrown himself into painting, design and photography. He is a graduate of the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts of the University of West Attica, which constitutes the academic origins of his trajectory.In his own words, he describes photography as the ideal way of expressing and illustrating the splendour that surrounds him, whether it is a landscape, a building or a portrait, while the process of photo shooting as his personal pilgrimage to praise this manifestation. An incessant shrinkage of the self takes place through this process simultaneously with the creation of new worlds, of these reflections. Over the last 25 years he has been working as a lighting technician at theatrical plays and audiovisual productions.
